Thanks! It was fun to write 😊 And thanks again for joining us on the podcast 🎙️we listened to it again while driving to Lake Michigan. I enjoyed the excerpt from “Light in the Canyon” all over again. (FYI there is a link in the Sunday Sip this week)
Moving to Marquette would be an incredible commitment! I think my version of that these days is Montana. I keep dreaming of Big Sky Country. All that space and beauty wrapped up in what seems like it must be a very close life with the few people you connect with while there. A life that seems smaller in all the rights ways, right?
But in the end, like you, it feels like one step too far. At least for now! And the snow. Oh my lord, the snow.
It's great to hear that you rediscovered the creativity where you are, but your opening lines really grabbed me because I know that spell of Gitchee Gumee and the kind of creative spirit that seems to reside in the northern woods...but on the other end of the UP. I'm figuring out how to move to somewhere near Ironwood, MI. If you want, you can read about my explorations, starting with this post maybe...https://goodspot.substack.com/p/buying-land. Wish you the best!
We have some awesome people in our lives that is for sure :)
Thanks @Shital Morjaria (she/her) for always showing up
Such a great reflection! I love the U.P.

Woohoo, so awesome! It was a pleasure.
Creativity leads to connection. With yourself as well as others. And we always need more of that. But you must seek it out.
Also, I need to get to Michigan.
💯I couldn’t agree more. And when you do give us a holler 😎
I have solution...my yooper dream

I’m keeping my options open.
And thanks for the shout out!
“A life that seems smaller in all the right ways,” you’ve nailed it.

Oh my word! The Gitchee Gumee got you! If or when you start your writers' retreat, please add me to your invite list 😊
You bet’cha (in the vernacular)!
